Bell & Ross Vintage Original BR 126 Chronograph
In the watch-making industry, Bell & Ross is reputable brand specializes in making pilot style watches and military watches. Recently, this Swiss watch brand enriched its Vintage BR 126 -a famous pilot’s watch line with a new Vintage Original BR 126 Chronograph watch.
This new Bell & Ross pilot’s watch comes with a round case in stainless steel. Beating inside is a Swiss ETA 2894 movement which is quite popular among other watch brands and thus very easy to maintain. Except the time, the movement offers 30-chronograph and a small seconds that are displayed in two subdials at 9 and 3 o’clock respectively, though it can provide tri-subdial chronograph functionality. And there is a small aperture for date display at 4:30 as well.
As mentioned above, the Vintage Original BR 126 has a round stainless steel case. And that is the main difference from the original model. 41mm at diameter, the case feature decent satin finish on the surface. To my knowledge, the low-key finish is required by any military watches. You know, polished steel easily reflects lights, which will lead to the exposure of the wearer and put him in dangerous status.
Covering the dial is a convex sapphire crystal that has been coated with anti-reflective coating. But I am afraid that before the coating gets enough scratches, it is not safe to wear this watch in battlefield.
The dial is available in black and beige. Though the black version showcases attractive high-contrast and adorable legibility, I personally vote for the beige one as it gives the provides the BR 126 Chronograph an unbeatable vintage look of the original models made in 1940s. And the watch will be perfect if you match it with a a worn look brown leather strap.
